Creating and Enhancing Your Web Page

Before you can start uploading your web pages to DataCruz, you must first activate your web account. Currently you need to contact Datacruz Support at support@datacruz.com in order to accompolish this. Once the account has been activated, there are several ways of publishing your web pages.

One of the easiest ways to publish a web page is with Microsoft's Web Publishing Wizard. This wizard will allow you to post your webpages no matter which web development program you use.  The only thing you need to know is your ftp login, password, and the URL for your site. DataCruz's User Pages are stored in http://www.datacruz.com/~username, where username is your log-in ID.  We have found that Microsoft's Web Publishing Wizard is easy to use, and is recommended no matter what web publishing tools you decide to use.

Another way for advanced users to upload pages is by using an ftp client, such as CuteFTP.  Once you have connected to ftp.datacruz.com using your username and password, change your remote folder to www and then upload your pages there. If you are unsure how to do this, please consult the help

Please note that you as a user are responsible for the content of your web page. The space allotted for your web site is limited to 5Mb. Should you exceed this quota, you will be billed at the rate of $1/Mb/Month. The maximum "data throughput" for your site is 200Mb/Month. Should you exceed this limit, additional throughput will be charged at $.50/Mb. Personal pages are NOT for Business use. Business web pages are available at an additional fee, more information can be found regarding this at our Business Services Page. Datacruz is the final authority on what is considered a business web page and what is not.
